Karstadt and the Swiss brand NAVYBOOT are to cooperate. Already in late summer, new shops of the shoe and accessories provider are opening in six Karstadt department stores in total. The start will be made at the end of the July with the stores Berlin Steglitz Schloßstraße and Dresden. The shop openings in the stores Nuremberg An der Lorenzkirche, Hamburg Mönckebergstraße, Munich Bahnhofplatz and Konstanz will then follow in August and September.
The new cooperation once again underlines Karstadt’s progress in connection with the ongoing successful restructuring.
“After the successful restructuring in Purchasing, we are now further strengthening our fashion competence. This will be one of our big issues in the near term,” says Karstadt’s Chief Merchandise Officer Peter Schmiddem.
New brands are being offered precisely in line with local customer requirements. “The high-quality shoes, bags and accessories from NAVYBOOT complement our offering in the six stores perfectly. We can thus present our customers with an even more differentiated and attractive product range at the locations,” says Kerstin Fleischer, Head of Category Management for Accessories, Shoes, Hosiery, Beauty, Watches/Jewellery and Linens at Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH.
“We are sure that NAVYBOOT is an attractive addition to the shoes and accessories portfolio for the selected Karstadt stores. We will individually align the weighting of Ladies’/Men’s and shoes/accessories to the local conditions and the customer structure of the respective stores,” says Marcus Meyer, CEO of NAVYBOOT.
NAVYBOOT was founded in Zurich in 1991 and has been owned by the Swiss Gaydoul Group since 2008.
With the new shops at Karstadt, the Swiss brand is represented in Switzerland, in Germany and in Asia with more than 60 points of sale.
